Knot in Public!

You may have heard of "World Wide Knit In Public Day". It was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other's company. Knitting is such a solitary act that it's easy to knit alone somewhere and sink into your work without thinking about all the other knitters out there.  This a specific day to get out of your house and go to a local event (with your knitting in tow) just for you and people like you.
I loved this photo and borrowed it from the official World Wide Knit in Public Day website, which you should totally visit here. http://www.wwkipday.com/about-world-wide-knit-in-public-day

Now it has turned into a week, and the official dates for 2013 are June 8th through 16th.
Our local Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History has taken it a step further to include, weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing, stitching. Fiber arts extravaganza!  I'm excited to be participating with the Santa Cruz Handweavers Guild!
If you are in the area, please come down to the museum, located at 705 Front Street in Santa Cruz.
The event hours are Noon to 5:00PM and it is FREE!
