Lone Piñon - My New Favorite Band

A couple of months ago, I received a phone call from a guitar player in Santa Fe who had seen my website and was interested in commissioning a custom strap for his classical guitar.

So, after our conversation, I decided to go hear his band. Wow!

The style of music that they play was not like anything I had ever heard before, 

but I loved it at once!

 "The acoustic trio which includes Greg Glassman (guitar, vocals), Jordan Wax (fiddle) and Noah Martinez (guitarrón) have immersed themselves in musical roots of Mexico’s Huasteca and Tierra Caliente regions, as well as El Rio Grande del Norte (Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado). Drawn together from a variety of musical backgrounds but mutual a admiration for cultural music roots, Lone Piñon formed in 2012. The guitar strap which I made for Greg turned out beautifully and here he is using it.

A closeup of the strap shows the little bits of red, gold and rusts which really make the design pop.
