Human Kindness....Pass It On

This sash was fingerwoven by a lady named Sharon whose weaving I discovered in her Etsy shop. I was really impressed since I have done a little finger weaving and found it difficult and very time-consuming. She and I struck up a conversation on Etsy. She had a special project, a sash for a Native American man for his dance regalia and we talked about what yarn she would use for it. I have quite a stash of wool yarns that I sell bits of from time to time, and decided to send her some to try out in the colors the customer wanted. No charge, just a small kindness from one weaver to encourage another.
As it turns out, the yarn was enough to do the sash. When he lost his job, her customer cancelled the order. She made it anyway and gave it to him as a gift. Just a small kindness from one person to encourage another. The spreading of human kindness is far better payment, I think, than any amount I may have charged for the yarn. Thank you, Sharon.

  1. This is a delightful story. The ripple effect of your kindness, Annie, is out of sight now, but still moving, touching others in ways you can only imagine. I am proud to know you!
